Khalsa Leamington Hockey Club held our inaugural Legends Golf Tournament on Saturday 29th July at Stratford Golf Course. The weather was kind to us, and it was an amazing day with fierce competition and some unbelievable golf shots, Closet to the pin was filmed, and ended up 90cm away from the pin. We also held a social evening at the clubhouse where the trophy presentations took place.

I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to several individuals who helped organise the event, donated trophies, made food, took pictures, donated raffle prizes, and helped at the clubhouse in the evening. Not forgetting all the golfers who took part because without them we would have not been able to hold the event.

A special thanks must be made to Kulwant Liddar who is a patron of the clubhouse and who helped drum up support with the golf society he is part of and was instrumental in organising all the individuals who are not associated with the Hockey Club.
Also, Nash Gill who sponsored all the trophies. The main trophy is in memory of his brother Ranbir Singh Gill who sadly passed in 2009 and was only 40. Nash played for Khalsa for a number of years and always attends home games when he is not working abroad.

Also, special mentions must go to Avtar Krishan who is another Patron of the clubhouse and cooked the curry for the social evening and provided hot plates, Narinder Birdi who made the Chana, Rashpal Hayer who made the rice and Vijay for the kebabs.
Thanks to Nav Hayer who was there the "hole day", pardon the pun, and took some amazing pictures/videos of the golfers on the course and at the clubhouse. Sanj Hayer, Amanvir Hayer, and Narinder for helping me run the bar in the evening.
Another shout-out must go to Sanj Hayer's friends who attended the evening event and helped serve the food. Also, Biri Hayer who helped tidy up the clubhouse on Sunday.

The tournament was a huge success and was commented on how well the whole day went for individuals who are not associated with the hockey club. Also, from a personal perspective, it was lovely to see so many people of different age groups and capabilities especially those who hardly ever play. Going forward this will be an annual event that will always be held on a set date.
